CENTENARY CONCERT
Saturday 24th June 2006 - 7.30pm
In her book A Winding Lane in the Wilderness, Libby
quoted from a newspaper account of a procession through Sandhurst
led by a brass band to mark the laying of the foundation stone of
the first brick-built Wesleyan chapel here in May 1867.
And now, in the centenary year of the present church, a brass band
will once again help to mark a significant occasion in the history
of Methodism in Sandhurst. Charles Church Camberley Band will present
a concert on Saturday June 24th at 7.30pm in the church; this event
is organised by the Scotland Hill House Group as their contribution
to the fund-raising effort.
The band will play a wide variety of music and it promises to be a
really enjoyable evening. It would be great to fill the church, so
please enter the date in your diaries as soon as possible, and encourage
your friends to come too. Tickets (available from Rosemary Gregory
01252 860939) are reasonably priced at £5 (£3 concessions),
and this includes light refreshments during the interval.
