Who is My Neighbour –
A Church Response to Social Disorder Linked to Gangs, Drugs, Guns
and Knives

This report, commissioned by Churches Together in England , represents
a significant contribution to the debate about this issue and the
tragic effects that it has on individual families and society at large.
The report was officially launched in the House of Commons in July
2008 and since then has received widespread positive coverage in the
Secular and Religious Press.
It is now important that the report finds its way on to agendas of
local churches. To this end, a series of regional launches is being
organised in key urban settings around the country to explore the
implementation of recommendations contained in the report.
One of these launch events will occur in Read ing . I write, on behalf
of CTB, and in association with Churches Together in Reading to invite
you to attend the launch of the report on

The principal elements of the evening will include some setting of
the local scene and of course a presentation of the report by Bishop
Joe Aldred who is Secretary of the Minority Ethnic Christian Affairs
Group, Churches Together in England and one of the principal authors
of the report. There will also be an opportunity for questions, a
plenary session and of course networking with the churches but also
we hope Local Government, Youth Service and Police Personnel.
We are also promised refreshments!
Copies of the report will be available for sale at £5 each.
