Aims and Objectives

As SCT we seek to unite, in pilgrimage the churches in this area which acknowledge God’s revelation in Jesus Christ, whom we confess as Lord.

We aspire to the richness that comes from respecting each other’s different approaches whilst recognising and building on what we have in common.

We seek to achieve this through shared worship and prayer, learning, service and evangelism with each church sharing with others the treasures of its tradition.

According to the Scriptures and in obedience to God’s will and in the power of the Holy Spirit we commit ourselves:

Seek a deepening of our communion with our Lord Jesus Christ and with one another.

Demonstrate our commitment to one another in the local community. Fulfil our mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness in this area and in the wider world.

‘I Pray that all may be one Father, just as you are in me and I am in you: may they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me’. John 17:21

Sandhurst Churches Together (SCT) - Committee

The role of the SCT committee is to uphold and promote the Aims and Objectives of Sandhurst Churches Together.

The following executive positions will be elected from within the Committee membership and re-elected each March:

Chairperson -Margaret Derlacki

The Committee will aim to meet every two months in January, March, May, July, September, November – dates and venues to be agreed.

In addition extra-ordinary meetings may be called for special events where decision need to be made that cannot wait until the next programmed meeting.

Agendas will be produced and circulated in advance of each meeting and only items submitted to the Secretary before the start of the meeting will be considered for addition to the agenda.

Agendas will focus on:

Events – feedback on past events and planning for those in the future.
Reports from the Coffee Spot Management Committee (these will not normally be for discussion as this is the role of the Coffee Spot Management Committee)
Potential areas of development
Major issues affecting all churches
The chance for individual churches to report on new areas of work where this may have a bearing on SCT.

All meetings will be underpinned by prayer.
